Comprehensive Hearing Evaluation (Age 3 – Adult)

Before we even begin to recommend a hearing aid, we test your hearing abilities to determine if you need one at all. The human hearing mechanism processes sound through both mechanical (outer and middle ear) and electrical (inner ear) systems. A thorough screening evaluates both of these systems independently. Visual inspection of the ear canal with an otoscope can reveal obstructions or wax blockages. Air and bone conductions tests are used to reveal the source and severity of a possible hearing loss. Speech testing determines a patient’s tolerance to loud sounds as well as their ability to hear and understand amplified speech. A small percentage of individuals require further, more detailed testing.

Hearing Aid Consultation (Age 3 – Adult)

  • Overview of audiological evaluation results (must be less than 6 months old or another will be performed)
  • Discussion of hearing instrument style and technology level to best solve problems you have due to your hearing loss.
  • Demonstration of hearing aids programmed according to your audiological test results in the office to give you an idea of how they sound when fitted appropriately.

TMJ NextGeneration™ Device

The TMJ NextGeneration™ Device is an FDA cleared, safe and effective aid in reducing Temporomandibular Joint Disorder pain. The TMJ NextGeneration™ Device is a medical device that treats the TM joint at its nearest access point – the ear canal. It consists of two custom-made, hollow ear canal inserts that fit in the ear canals. Because they are hollow, the inserts permit full passage of sound. When in place, the devices rest in the outer part of the ear canal and have small retraction posts that allow for easy removal. The device is easy for the patient to insert and remove. When inserted in the ear it is practically invisible from the outside.
